“Living in Interesting Times”

It has been said that there is an old Chinese curse that roughly translates as “May you live in interesting times”. Though there is disagreement as to whether this is really an authentic Chinese curse, I think we would all agree that we truly ARE living in interesting times. With all the change and upheaval we see around us it is understandable how living in an “interesting time” can sometimes seem like a curse. However, the challenges that life sometimes serves up to us can also “serve” us in a positive way, even if the positive seems a bit hard to see sometimes. This time of uncertainty and change is an incredible opportunity for positive change and transformation both as individuals, at the company or organizational level, as a culture and even as a global community.

My purpose is to help you discover the wisdom within you that will guide you through the rough waters of an uncertain time and on to the life you were meant to live.  I have found that my own challenges both personally and as a business owner have created opportunities to ask the bigger life questions that I often put off when things are going “smoothly”. There have even been times of great financial and business success when I felt a bit trapped by my own “success”. I remember thinking “If everything is going so well then why do I feel this hollow ache inside?” Fortunately, with the help of others, a couple of “kicks in the butt” from life and a healthy dose of humor I found my way through to a much better place. I've found my own internal compass. I would like to help you find yours.

Who are you Really?

I realize now that it is all about being the real you, the authentic you, and living the life that you were meant to live and long to live, not living someone else’s idea of what your life is supposed to be. As Oscar Wilde put it, “Be yourself! Everyone else is already taken.” When we begin to let go of what we think we should be, we begin to reveal what we truly are which is not only better than what we expected, it is what the world is waiting for. For business and organizational leaders, having a clear vision of where you want yourself and your organization be and the impact you want to make is a clear and powerful driver for sustainable success

Your purpose is calling. Should I tell it you’re here?

Deep down you can feel it. I know you can. I mean those inner longings that keep tugging on your heart strings, especially in your quiet moments or late at night; that gut feeling that there is much more to you and your life than what you see right now. Something deep within you is calling you to Wake Up and BE the person you were born to be; to LIVE the life you were meant to live with greater joy, love, laughter, fulfillment and purpose and success. The world is waiting for you to show up as the amazing person that deep down you already are. The contributions you have to offer, even if you aren’t sure what they are right now, are needed now more than ever. Why else do you think you were born in such an “interesting time”. So, I ask you:

• Are you longing to re-ignite your passion and joy for living?
